Rutherford Junior High School provides a wide range of Performing Art Subjects. We believe that providing opportunity to inspire, grow and expand their creativity is something a growing teen needs. So we provide performing arts subjects. All listed below
- Kapa Haka
Ngaa Puukarukaru o te Awa Tipua is our Maaori Performing Arts Group. Offering practice twice a week where they will learn kapa haka performance skills including vocal training and stage presence.
- School Band
Rutherford Junior High band "RECKLESS" placed 1st in the regional awards in August 2023 and placed 3rd in New Zealand at the Smoke Free Tangata Beats National Finals.
